Born in 1969, Alexis Le Cour Grandmaison entered the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1997. He graduated from the Institute of Political Science of Aix-en-Provence and holds a bachelor’s degree from the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (Arabic). Prior to being appointed Ambassador of France to Jordan, Mr Le Cour Grandmaison was Deputy Director of the Crisis and Support Center. His previous experiences include duties as Deputy Head of Mission at the French Embassy in Rabat (2014-2018), Head of the Levant section at the Middle East and North Africa directorate (2010-2014), Senior Advisor at the Policy Planning division (2008-2010), Political Officer at the French Consulate General in Jerusalem (2004-2008), First Secretary at the French Embassy in Beirut (2000-2004) and Desk Officer at the Middle East and North Africa division (1997-2000).
