Monir Zaarour is the Director of Policy and Programs for the Arab World and the Middle East at the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ). Prior to joining the IFJ in 2006, he worked for Cinema Production Center in Ramallah, Palestine and was an activist in the Palestinian Writers Union. He has an MA in International Conflict Analysis from Brussels School of International Studies-University of Kent. His work at the IFJ include devising, planning and supervising the implementation of the IFJ program in the region in line with the IFJ’s global working program. The regional work is developed around five main campaigns: safety of journalists, media freedom and reform, trade-union building and solidarity, ethics and human rights.
